Description of the water softener - C206
A water softener transforms hard water into softened water (hard water being characterized by its calcium and magnesium carbonate content). The water also contains dissolved mineral salts. As hard water passes over a bed of cationic resin, it exchanges calcium and magnesium ions for sodium ions. The hard water, thus deprived of its calcium and magnesium ions, becomes soft.
Regeneration is the process that replenishes the resins by replenishing them with sodium and removing the calcium and magnesium carbonates captured during the water's passage. Regeneration is completed by backwashing the resins.A fully hydraulic system, operating without electricity: reliable, with no clock or circuit boards to set, adjust, repair, or replace. No electrical power supply required.
