Cruise Ship
Cruise ships often voyage in special areas protected by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Within the special areas discharge of ground food waste into the sea is only permitted while the ship is en route and not less than 12 nautical miles from land. The food waste must be ground in a food waste disposer before discharge, and capable of passing through a screen with openings no greater than 25mm.
Disperator food waste disposers within the product series 500, 500A, 500V, 500RS, 500EX, GTS-E65, GTS-Mini hold the DNV-GL Statement of Compliance with MARPOL Annex V for regulation of disposal of ground food waste at sea.
With thousands of passengers onboard, a cruise ship generates a great deal of food waste. If not able to discharge of the waste it must be collected in a special storage tank and handled while at port, often covered by stringent regulations.
Disperator provides the grinding units associated with the complete vacuum systems offered by world-leading suppliers connected to the storage tanks.
Every kitchen is to a certain extent unique. Disperator’s Modul System where all assemblies can be used with all Disperator models makes it possible to plan ergonomically correct solutions for different places of work in the kitchen. A range of mounting assemblies make it easy to build Disperator’s basic models into sinks, washing lines, working benches, table tops or as free-standing units. Installation into existing assembly or to an assembly manufactured by other supplier is also possible.
For CE-marking an approved assembly from Disperator or other manufacturer is needed above disposer inlet.
