Cruise Ship
Cruise ships often voyage in special areas protected by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Within the special areas discharge of ground food waste into the sea is only permitted while the ship is en route and not less than 12 nautical miles from land. The food waste must be ground in a food waste disposer before discharge, and capable of passing through a screen with openings no greater than 25mm.
Disperator food waste disposers within the product series 500, 500A, 500V, 500RS, 500EX, GTS-E65, GTS-Mini hold the DNV-GL Statement of Compliance with MARPOL Annex V for regulation of disposal of ground food waste at sea.
With thousands of passengers onboard, a cruise ship generates a great deal of food waste. If not able to discharge of the waste it must be collected in a special storage tank and handled while at port, often covered by stringent regulations.
Disperator provides the grinding units associated with the complete vacuum systems offered by world-leading suppliers connected to the storage tanks.
500A-BS Excellent Series
Installation in sink / washing line
The BS assembly is the natural choice when height is restricted between the sink and floor. A nipple is welded into the sink’s drain outlet, and a plate bolted to the disposer is threaded to the nipple. Designed for continuous feeding of food waste, handling of large amounts of food waste without unnecessary interruptions in the daily duties means increased efficiency.
Standard delivery includes complete contactor with motor protector, flushing nozzle for installation in sink wall and complete solenoid valve with line strainer. Food waste disposers within the 500A Excellent Series features grinders of specially alloyed steel, housings and mounting assemblies of stainless steel EN 1.4301 (AISI304) and a protection class of IP55 – all assuring long life expectancy and operational reliability.
A protective lid above disposer’s inlet supplied by Disperator is required for CE-marking (500A BS-K series).
